Promoter This regulation governs the terms and conditions for participation in and the conduct of the RHS Burger League – Best Burger Sicilia 2027 (hereinafter the “Initiative”), an event conceived and organized by Associazione Expò Mediterraneo, with registered office at Via Mandrà 8, 95100 Catania, Italy – VAT No. 03732560879 (hereinafter the “Organizer”), as part of the Ristora Hotel Sicilia trade fair, scheduled to take place from 21 to 24 February 2027 at Siciliafiera, Misterbianco.1. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE INITIATIVE The main objective of the Initiative is to identify and recognize the best burger in Sicily, highlighting the quality of ingredients, culinary creativity and the region’s gastronomic culture. At the same time, the project aims to promote Sicilian burger restaurants through editorial content, social media activities and dedicated communication initiatives, within the context of Ristora Hotel Sicilia, a leading event in the food & hospitality sector. A distinctive feature of the Initiative is the selection of the “RHS Burger League Ambassador”, a figure who will represent the RHS Burger League in future communication and promotional activities related to the event. The contest falls outside the scope of application of Italian Presidential Decree No. 430/2001, as it is aimed at selecting a professional figure and does not constitute a prize competition. 2. TERRITORIAL SCOPE AND DURATION The Initiative is open to participants from throughout the territory of the Sicilian Region. Contest Schedule: From 25 September 2026: online registration opens Application deadline: 20 January 2027 21 February 2027: live final competition 3. ELIGIBILITY AND PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS Participation is open to professionals and/or businesses operating in the food service sector and duly registered for VAT purposes. The owner of the business may appoint an employee to represent the business during the Contest. The following are excluded from participation: Employees of the Organizer, event partners and sponsors; Persons related by family ties to the organizers and sponsors; Persons bound by contracts that are incompatible with participation in the Contest. Each VAT registration may submit only one application. 4. REGISTRATION AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE Participation is by voluntary application, by accessing the website https://ristorahotelsicilia.it/, going to the events section and completing the relevant registration form with the requested information. The Participant must provide: first and last name of the participant; name of the venue; city in which the business is located; list of ingredients used in the burger; name of the proposed burger. Submission of the application constitutes full acceptance of these regulations and the privacy policy. 5. CONTEST THEME Participants must propose an original burger recipe, which will be prepared live during the final event on Sunday, 21 February 2027. The recipe, which may be freely interpreted by the Participant, must include a bun, burger patty, sauces and any additional ingredients. The main ingredient of the burger is at the Participant’s discretion, and may be selected from different categories, including meat, fish, or vegetarian and vegan alternatives. 6. SELECTION OF FINALISTS AND EVALUATION CRITERIA From all applications received, the Organizer will select up to 10 official finalists who will advance to the final stage of the RHS Burger League. The finalists will be selected on the basis of the following preliminary criteria: quality of the proposed burger and gastronomic concept; identity and consistency of the venue in relation to its food offering and brand positioning; creativity and originality of the recipe; online reputation of the venue (e.g. ratings and public reviews); clarity and completeness of the submitted application. The Organizer reserves the right to exclude applications that are unsuitable, incomplete, unoriginal or inconsistent with the purposes of the event. 7. TECHNICAL JURY The preparations will be evaluated by a technical jury appointed by the Organizer and composed of chefs, food industry entrepreneurs, food and wine journalists and food bloggers. Judging criteria: quality and proper cooking of the ingredients; originality of the combinations; visual presentation; overall balance of flavors. 8. COMPETITION PROCEDURE Finalists who qualify for the final stage must prepare live the recipe submitted during registration. Each finalist will have 15 minutes to prepare the burger to be served to the jury. The product must be fit for consumption and prepared in full compliance with all applicable health and hygiene regulations. 9. TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT AND EXPENSES The Organizer will make the following technical equipment available to the finalists exclusively for the live competition: workstation; fry top; oven; deep fryer; refrigerator. All small kitchen utensils shall remain the responsibility of the Participant, including, by way of example and without limitation: tongs, spatulas, knives, hand tools and any other personal equipment deemed necessary for the proper execution of the recipe. Each Participant is also responsible for independently providing the ingredients required to prepare their burger. Burgers and ingredients must be transported in containers compliant with GastroNorm standards, in 1/3 or 1/2 size. All transportation, meals and accommodation expenses related to participation in the final event shall be borne entirely by the Participants. 10. RECOGNITION The winning venue will receive the official title: “RHS Burger League – Best Burger Sicilia 2027” The award includes: official “RHS Best Burger Sicilia 2027” sticker, which may be displayed for 12 months on the venue’s window, menu and digital channels; official award plaque; visibility across RHS channels (website, social media and press releases); award ceremony during the RHS event; direct access to the 2028 edition of the RHS Burger League; 11. TITLE The winner will receive the title of “RHS Burger League Ambassador” for a period of 1 (one) year. The title may involve participation in promotional and communication activities without additional compensation. 12. LIABILITY The Participant assumes full responsibility for the ingredients and materials used in the preparation and releases the Organizer from any liability for damage or problems arising from their use, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the Organizer. 13. IMAGE RIGHTS AND USE OF CONTENT Participants grant the Organizer, free of charge, the right to use images, videos and submitted content for promotional and communication purposes, without any temporal or territorial limitations. 14. PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA Personal data will be processed in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). Data Controller: Associazione Expò Mediterraneo. 15. AMENDMENTS AND CANCELLATION The Organizer reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the Contest due to force majeure, without any obligation to pay compensation. 16. JURISDICTION Any dispute shall be subject exclusively to the jurisdiction of the Court of Catania, Italy.
